Bright, sweet, and unmistakably fresh, spearmint is the mint for mojitos, iced tea, tabbouleh, and lamb sauce. It is also famously vigorous, so we recommend growing it in its own container rather than a garden bed, where it will happily take over. Ours arrives in a 4" pot, raised without synthetic pesticides, and thrives on a bright windowsill or a partly shaded patio. Harvest often to keep it bushy and productive. Mint contains oils that can cause stomach upset in cats and dogs if they eat a lot, so keep it out of pets' reach.
