Little Spire is an upright, tidy take on Russian sage, with silvery, finely cut foliage and airy lavender-blue flower spikes that glow from midsummer into fall. It thrives on heat, poor soil, and neglect, and the aromatic leaves are left alone by deer and rabbits. It is a beautiful partner for coneflowers, sedums, and ornamental grasses in a sunny, low-water bed. Because it stays upright rather than sprawling, it works even in smaller gardens.
