Limelight produces enormous cone-shaped flower clusters that open lime green in midsummer, fade to creamy white, and then blush pink and burgundy as autumn cools. Unlike bigleaf types, it blooms on new wood, so a hard winter or a heavy prune will not cost you a season of flowers. It is a reliable anchor for a mixed border, a flowering hedge, or a large container on a patio. This shrub ships well-branched and already established, so it should flower the first year.
