These are the pruners we carry in our own aprons at the greenhouse. The hardened high-carbon steel blade holds an edge through a full season, and the bypass action makes clean cuts on live stems up to 3/4 inch thick, which is better for the plant than crushing anvil-style pruners. A sap groove keeps the blade from gumming up, and the ergonomic handles have a cushioned grip and a simple thumb lock. They are light enough for a full morning of deadheading and strong enough for rose canes and shrub branches. The blade is replaceable, so a good pair will last for many years.
